Thermo Fisher Scientific is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of microbiological diagnostic products, which are used in clinical and industrial laboratories globally to identify bacteria and other organisms causing disease and damage. The company was the first Australian business to adopt Loscam’s Fresh Crates.
An interview with Richard Stevens, Warehouse Team Leader, Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia, revealed some background to the partnership story.
“We were increasing our production output to meet the growing demand for our products, when we approached our packaging provider back then, they were unfortunately not in a position to help us out. This led us to search for an alternative solution.”
As a microbiology company, the service demanded by Themo Fisher is simple, but critical. “Our customers expect nothing short of clinical perfection from us, so we need all of our suppliers to meet the same level of accuracy, dependability, quality and service.” Richard explained.
In addition to the smooth compatibility with Thermo Fisher’s operations, Loscam crates offer additional features for the company. As Richard tells us, “They fit slightly more than one of our previous solutions when stacked onto a pallet for transport. We also like the way the crates are constructed, with a thought to how the crates fold down and where the corner locking mechanism is located, this was a big improvement on what we had before.”
And it’s not just the crates that Richard appreciates about Loscam. He continued, “In all my dealings with Loscam, I have found all the staff polite, helpful and easy to deal with, to say nothing of their willingness to better understand our business and to learn all of the ‘ins and outs’ of our operation, working collaboratively with our staff here to investigate possible solutions going beyond our need for storage crates.”
Richard concluded, “The partnership between the two companies has been just that, a partnership. Each interaction has been positive, with both sides bring something into conversations, and I really enjoy the quick response from the Loscam team when they are addressing any of our concerns.”
