Loscam’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee is dedicated to contributing to the health and safety of our staff, and the communities in which we operate. In line with this commitment we were honoured to participate in the Thailand government’s initiative “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”, which was held on 26 June 2018 at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province Stadium.
The event encourages a thorough understanding of the different types of problems caused by drug use and abuse, which in addition to personal health issues and workplace risk, also results in negative knock-on effects to the general public and community around us.
“There is no doubt that Loscam has zero tolerance to drug use among our staff, the risks to health and safety are too great”, explained Somsak Nattakrannuwat, General Manager of Loscam Thailand, “our participation in the anti-drug campaign is an acknowledgement of our desire to help with the bigger picture. A number of our depots are in areas considered as ‘hot spots’ and the majority of our workers are male, which statistically shows there is more risk of drug related issues. In this light we must play our part in educating our people and the community on drug related problems and causes.”
Somsak concluded: “Loscam Thailand is committed to staying in tune with Thailand’s anti-drug education initiatives long into the future, as a team we have uncompromising commitment to safety rules”.
